I'm kind of considering accepting his invite and telling him I don't want to be a JW. I think it'll be much easier to have that conversation via facebook than in person. This may be my opportunity to get a lot things off my chest concerning this organization. Maybe this could provide the closure that fading away hasn't.

you many have recently heard about the "revolution muslim" (http://revolutionmuslim.com/) website that is encouraging violence against the creators of south park.. revolution muslim is angry because south park wanted to simply show a picture of muhammad.
nothing more.. i went to the http://revolutionmuslim.com/ website and noticed that they are asking for pay pal donations.. keep in mind that every time someone makes a donation, pay pal charges 2.9% + $0.30.
sooooo... if someone donates one penny ($0.01) it means the revolution muslim account will go down 29 cents.. .
Obviously I'm not a muslim but I have no problem with this site. The creators of south park just wanted to be douchebags and make fun of someone's religion. They just wanted attention and now they're getting it.

I think the conundrum you are experiencing is between trying to be friends with these folks and trying to not be part of the cult.

I honestly don't know. The human part of me tells me that there will be at least some who cares. I guess you could never know for sure until it happens.

I don't want to be rude to this guy. I met this guy at 19 at a time when I didn't have good relationship with my parents so he was kind of like a father figure. I just need to know the nicest way possible to blow him off without hurting his feelings. I'm really more concerned about hurting certain members of my old congo's feelings than me getting disfellowshipped. As stated earlier I have no JW family so me getting disfellowshipped wouldn't matter.

Why do you care if the elders get to you at all? Are you staying under the radar for your family?
None of my family are JWs. It's just that for lack of a better term I'm a horny bastard. I've been seeing a lot of lot of sisters I know one facebook and some these girls are really hot! Me being caught up in a JC could really mess up my plans, but after the way this chick notified this elder I contacted on facebook, I think I'm no longer interested in any JW chicks.
